LA Galaxy II (11-8-3, 36 points) fell 2-1 to Arizona United SC on Sunday evening at StubHub Center. Andre Auras’ goal in the 65th minute was not enough to overcome the two goals Arizona scored in the first half.

After returning home from a three-game road swing with only three points, Galaxy II took part in a doubleheader at StubHub following a 3-1 LA Galaxy win over Seattle Sounders FC.

Galaxy II applied pressure to Arizona early but could not find their goal in the opening stages of the first half. Eventually, the visitors opened the scoring in the 31st minute behind a goal from Long Tan. One minute later, Tan picked up an assist as Dennis Chin scored the game winner for Arizona United.

Andre Auras then gave Los Dos hope after notching his third goal of the season in the 65th minute. Seven minutes later, Adrian Vera earned a penalty kick after a foul by Arizona defender Tyler Ruthven. Los Dos midfielder Jaime Villarreal took the penalty, but his chance rattled the crossbar before going back into play.

The match featured a handful of LA Galaxy Academy products, including LA Galaxy U-18 forward Ethan Zubak who scored 29 goals in 39 appearances in the USSDA 2014-15 season. Zubak was joined by Ryo Fujii, Kainoa Bailey, Jaime Villarreal, Rey Ortiz, Adrian Vera, and Adonis Amaya.

LA Galaxy II return to action on the road when they face the Austin Aztex on Saturday, August 15 at 5 p.m. PT at House Park. Los Dos return home on August 23 against Seattle Sounders FC 2 at the StubHub Center main stadium.
