USSDA Playoffs Kick Off Tonight With 13 California Teams Vying For National Title

The United States Soccer Development Academy playoffs kick off tonight in Dallas with a combined 13 California teams competing in the U-17/18 and U-15/16 age groups.

Six teams are from the U-17/18 age group with the LA Galaxy finishing as the top team in California. They will be joined by Sacramento Republic FC, Pateadores, Arsenal FC, Nomads SC, and the San Jose Earthquakes.

On the U-15/16 side, seven teams advanced to the playoffs with the LA Galaxy again finishing with the top spot. The are joined by FC Golden State, Real So Cal, Sacramento Republic FC, Strikers FC, San Jose Earthquakes, and Pateadores.

Clubs sending two teams, which is a huge accomplishment are LA Galaxy, Sacramento Republic FC, San Jose Earthquakes and Pateadores.

The state of California has had great success in the USSDA playoffs with the Pateadores winning the U-17/18 title in 2011. The LA Galaxy have won twice at the U-15/16 level. The first in 2011 and the second against a tough Real Salt Lake Arizona team in 2014.
