“Of all the American basketball stars, there’s probably not one who was as involved in football and lived it as emotionally as Kobe Bryant.”

Gabriele Marcotti, author of The Italian Job: A Journey to the Heart of Two Great Footballing Cultures.

Kobe spent his formative years in Italy, where he developed his love for A.C. Milan. His love of football continued, and he passed that love to his daughters.

Mamba FC was Kobe’s youth soccer club in Orange County, and he could be seen around the fields cheering on his daughters. His passion for his family, sports, and the life lessons that come along with pursuing athletics, was evident.

RIP Kobe. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of all the victims of this horrible accident. ~The SoccerNation team
