Signing Day 2017: RSF Attack B98 sends players to top NCAA programs

“Signing Day” 2017 brought over 600 people together at the San Diego Hall of Champions to celebrate the accomplishments of high school seniors across the county as they sign their National Letters of Intent, committing in writing to accepting athletic scholarships and participating in collegiate athletics.

The Rancho Santa Fe Attack B98 Academy team has been a top boys’ team in Southern California and the nation for years, garnering interest from college coaches across the country. Five players from Malcolm Tovey‘s talented team signed NLIs today, with more players still considering multiple offers from college programs. (The official signing period for soccer opened 2/1/2017 and closes 8/1/2017.)

Tovey says this group of athletes is “an extremely talented and hard working team. They have been State Cup National Finalists the last two years and have strengthened the team and squad from last season. They have been on an outstanding game winning streak, winning their last 15 games which includes being crowned SCDL League Cup Champions. They attain a high level of consistency and hate to lose as much as they like to win. There is wonderful team leadership, individual talent and team chemistry. The players and parents have been together for a long time and the RSF Attack is proud of the individuals that are now attending college to play soccer and for the support of Carey Schumacher , Dwight Allgood, Lotta Sabouri and Marilee Pacelli for all of the support behind the scenes.”

Jon Sabouri, forward from San Dieguito Academy, will attend UCSD.

Chris Gustini, goalkeeper from Cathedral Catholic High School, will attend Cal Berkeley.

Nick Giacalone, forward from Cathedral Catholic High School, will attend Loyola Marymount University (LMU).
