Months ago, Covid-19 shut down in-person learning and youth sports. Legends FC directors quickly began looking to the future. It became clear that schools in SoCal would likely start the 2020-2021 year with “distance learning.”

Legends FC and Stars Academy in Anaheim put a plan together that would turn the 2020-2021 school year into a win-win solution for young soccer players and their families.

The Silverlakes Complex in Norco provides the perfect setting. Classrooms have been set up where tutors and teachers will guide students through their school days.

Academics and athletics will be seamlessly combined into a high-level academy setting where young athletes can grow and thrive — together and in-person, socially distanced.

Grades 6-8, 50 students max

Families can enroll their middle school students, grades 6-8, in the Legends Academy powered by Stars. Suncoast Preparatory Academy, a K-8 online charter school, provides the academic curriculum and instruction.

During an informational session for Legends parents (link below), directors explained that the school year will begin with distance learning. Therefore, Suncoast teachers are available through Zoom and e-communications.

Additionally, tutors are on site to support students academically throughout the school day. When health officials allow it, Suncoast Prep teachers will begin on-site instruction two days a week at the Silverlakes classrooms.
