MLS Review

LA Galaxy (1) vs. Sporting Kansas City (1) – Watch Highlights
Both sides traded worthy Goals of the Week contenders in a thrilling 1-1 draw. Kansas City’s, Brad Davis, opened up the scoring in the 30th minute after he beat a defender to a Graham Zusi header. He then took a touch to the inside and curled a bender into the far post. Moments before the halftime break, LA answered back. Gyasi Zardes played a ball forward to Gio Dos Santos, who took a touch into the box and chipped the goalkeeper from a tight angle. Galaxy went down a man late when Ashley Cole was shown two quick yellows. They held on for their sixth match in a row in which they earned points.

San Jose Earthquakes (1) vs. Philadelphia Union (1) – Watch Highlights
Big comeback for the Earthquakes on Saturday as they were down a man for the majority of the match and were still able to find a way to equalize the match in the 83rd minute. Before all this, Chris Pontius scored the opened goal for the Union in the 30th minute. San Jose’s Anibal Godoy was shown a second yellow in the 60th minute. Just over 20 minutes later, Simon Dawkins weaved through the Union defense before slotting home the equalizer.

Seattle Sounders (1) vs. Columbus Crew (0) – Watch Highlights
Jordan Morris is living up to the hype. The rookie and already capped USMNT forward scored his third goal of the season in a big Seattle, 1-0, win over the Crew. In the final minutes of the match, Seattle charged down the left wing. A ball was played in and the original shot was saved. Morris was the first to the ball and found a way to squeeze it into the back of the net. For Seattle, its third win in five matches.

Real Salt Lake (2) vs. Houston Dynamo (1) – Watch Highlights
Back to their winning ways, Real Salt Lake at home took care of business against the Houston Dynamo. Things did get a little dicey when Houston’s Leonel Miranda scored the opening goal in the 54th minute. However, it woke RSL up as Jordan Allen, set up by Justen Glad, scored the equalizer just minutes later. Then eight minutes after that Yura Movsisyan scored the eventual game-winning for RSL, who are now in a three-way tie for first in the Western Conference.
