This is the final push for Rush to climb their way back to the top of the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) Colorado conference. With only four games left on the season and sitting three points out of first, Rush will need to snag all points possible in every remaining game.

Rush started the season on fire going unbeaten in their seven games and were able to find the goal seemingly at will in every match. That momentum got them through the mid point of the season sitting in first place and looking like a sure favorite to finish out the season on top.

The last three conference games have been frustrating for Rush as they have dictated each game but just can’t seem to find the back of the net. They have chalked up two losses and a draw in the last three matches but still remain well in the hunt for the conference title only sitting two points behind FC Greeley and three behind Colorado Springs FC.

The match this week certainly favors Rush as they will be taking on FC United who are currently sitting in the last spot in the conference. The first time theses two teams squared off Rush was able to head home with a 4-1 victory tucked in their pocket. This time around Rush is grasping at any momentum that they can find to catapult them back into winning form to finish out the season.

Despite the rough season that United is having they will be a tough match up for Rush. They are a quality side and are familiar with how Rush likes to play. In their last conference game United took first place Colorado Springs FC to the wire but fell 3-2 in a spirited effort.

Rush will have to be careful in each remaining game of the UPSL season. Each of the other teams in the Colorado conference got a good taste of the quality Rush has early in the season and are each starting to adjust game strategies accordingly. Most of these teams resort to holding seven players behind the ball and just sending counter attack hoping to get lucky and sneak a goal by.

Certainly adjustments will need to be made for Rush as well to keep the other clubs on their toes for the remainder of the season. Rush will be going into this game missing some key players again which has hurt them all season long but leaves the door wide open for some of other guys to step up.

Rush has the quality and the talent to make this late season push and can control their own fate but need to get that ball rolling against United or the sight of first place in the conference will start to get very small in the rear view mirror.

Come out and support Rush and cheer them on as they search for this must needed win. Kickoff for this match is at 7pm at Shea Stadium on May 28th.
