While Galaxy II look to slide into first in the Western Conference, yet again, Colorado Springs Switchbacks will be focusing on three points to close the gap as they trail LA in third place.

A familiar face in the Colorado soccer community, head coach Steve Trittschuh will look to even up the series at home in front of a promising crowd as the Switchbacks “Pack the Park” with the help of Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services.

Colorado Springs (10-6-2, 32 pts.) have recently acquired the leading goal scorer for Los Dos during the 2014 USL regular season, Chandler Hoffman on short-term loan from Houston Dynamo. The Switchbacks are led by Miguel Gonzalez with eight goals in 16 appearances and Luke Vercollone with eight goals and seven assists on the season.

Galaxy II enter their second-straight road match unbeaten streak in their last seven games. Curt Onalfo’s squad is led by forward Ariel Lassiter with nine goals, while Raul Mendiola continues to lead the league with eight assists in 15 matches. This will be the second time they will play at the recently renovated Sand Creek Stadium, the first time being October 18, 2014 as they faced Arizona United SC in the pro soccer exhibition.

Following the match in Colorado Springs, Galaxy II will complete the last of three-consecutive road games at Taft Stadium facing OKC Energy FC Tuesday, August 4 kicking off at 5 p.m. PT.
