San Diego’s Albion SC PROS are back home in Pacific Beach on Saturday night for an extremely important match in the National Premier Soccer League. Following a tough couple of games on the road, the PROS will be hungry to win 3 points upon the final whistle.

The PROS welcome 0-2-0 Sports Club Corinthians USA. Although the Pros (1-0-2) unleashed the arsenal in the first match of the season, scoring 4 goals, there has not been a repeat spark in the subsequent two matches against Deportivo Coras USA and FC Arizona.

Defensively, the Pros have only allowed 4 goals in three matches, and with their traditionally disciplined organization, defending should not be the biggest concern they face, particularly with the ever-reliable goalkeeper Jean Antoine guarding the goal.

The visiting Corinthians have had a knack for staying in matches until the final whistle. The key to the game for Albion PROS will be to rekindle the goal spree from their most recent home game and continue to pile it on early and often, leaving Corinthians with too much work to climb back up. The likes of David Luquen and Amani Walker leading the attack could be the answer to putting this game away early.

The Pros have a lot to build on in this match. Yes, it is early in the season but with two losses under their belt, this is a match to turn around their fortunes while taking advantage of playing at home in Mission Bay High School.

Albion currently sit 5th  in the NPSL Southwest Conference table with 3 points, while Corinthians are slowly climbing up the table in 7th with 2 points, having played one less game than the PROS.

This provides for an explosive match between two clubs fighting to gain on Division leaders Riverside Coras who sit atop the table with a perfect 3-0-0 record. Albion must look for all three points at Mission Bay High School as conference rivals Orange County FC and So Cal FC are merely a point away, each with one less game played at the moment.

There is always a certain moment in a season where everyone can point back to it being “the game” or “the moment” when everything changed, and this weekend’s match could easily be that opportunity for the PROS to take that turn.

“We have been on the road for last couple weeks and we forget how special it is to play in front of our home crowd. We look forward to coming home and entertaining and playing very hard for our fans.” Said Noah Gins, CEO of the Pros.

A win would be massive, especially a win at home. With the turning of the tides in Pacific Beach, who’s to say this isn’t the tide rolling in favor for the PROS en route to another Southwestern Conference championship?

Saturday’s match kicks off at 5:00 pm at Mission Bay High School in Pacific Beach. Several vendors will be present to offer food and entertainment off the pitch, such face painting and balloon artists, shaved ice, Primos Mexican food, and much more!

General admission is $10.00, children under the age of 18 is $3.00, while current and former military get in free w/ Military ID!
