The 2017 Rebels Cup took place last weekend, and was a huge success. A beautiful San Diego weekend, the tournament had 312 teams participate; an all time high. An annual fundraising tournament for Rebels Soccer Club, they were very pleased with this year’s tournament.

“We were extremely happy with the tournament turnout for it’s fifth year,” said Abel Martinez, Tournament Director.

With even a 2011 bracket, many U6 boys had their first experience participating in a tournament, with some games even ending in shoot out finale.

Since Rebels SC hosted the tournament, their teams were even more motivated to take home the title of Rebels Cup Champions – and they represented well.

2011 (BOYS U6)
CHAMPION: ATLANTE SDFC NARANJO
FINALIST: REBELS LOPEZ

Atlante SDFC Naranjo started off the tournament with a 4-0 shutout against SD Real Madrid, followed by a 7-0 shutout against La Jolla Impact. The boys continued their shutout streak with a 1-0 win against Rebels Lopez, which they also faced in the final, but the boys once against defeated the Rebels and were crowned champions after a 4-1 victory. 

2010 (BOYS U7)
CHAMPION: LA GALAXY SAN DIEGO MEDINA
FINALIST: REBELS SC GOLD DE LA ROCHA

LA Galaxy San Diego started off the tournament with a 8-2 victory over Murrieta Surf, followed by a 5-1 win over Rebels SC Gold. The boys then shut out Rebels Blue 8-0, sending them to the final, where they once again faced Rebels SC Gold and once again were victorious with a 3-0 shutout; winning the title of champions. 

2010 (GIRLS U7)
CHAMPION: CDA SLAMMERS FC CRUZ
FINALIST: LA GALAXY SAN DIEGO

CDA Slammers FC Cruz dominated the tournament! The girls shutout Albion Madrigal 15-0, followed by another 15-0 shutout against Rebels SC. The girls then continued with a 16-0 shutout against LA Galaxy San Diego, and finished the tournament with another shutout against LA Galaxy San Diego, 10-0, earning the title of champions. 

2009 (BOYS U8) GOLD
CHAMPION: LA GALAXY SAN DIEGO HOWITT
FINALIST: ALBION SC SO ACADEMY KORYTOSKI

LA Galaxy San Diego started off the tournament with a 7-1 win over Albion Academy Shuttleworth, followed by a 3-3 tie against Albion Academy Korytoski. The boys then lost to Atlante Moreno 4-1, but came back with a 6-0 shutout against Albion Academy Korytoski and were crowned champions. 

2009 (BOYS U8) SILVER
CHAMPION: SD REAL MADRID ELITE HUERTA
FINALIST: LEGENDS FC BLACK

SD Real Madrid started off the tournament with a 9-3 win against Rebels Gamboa, followed by a 2-2 tie against Legends FC Black. The boys then defeated Barca Cantera Ortiz 7-3, followed by a 2-1 win over Legends FC Black earning the title of champions.

2009 (GIRLS U8) SILVER
CHAMPION: CDA SLAMMERS FC CRUZ
FINALIST: LA GALAXY SAN DIEGO LINES

CDA Slammers FC started off the tournament with a 7-3 win over SD Surf Academy Select, followed by a huge 16-0 shutout against San Diego United Black. The girls then defeated Rebels SC Schiff with another big 11-0 shutout, followed by a 4-0 victory over LA Galaxy San Diego, and were crowned champions. 

2009 (BOYS U8) BRONZE
CHAMPION: REBELS ELITE FLORES
FINALIST: RANGERS LORENZO

Rebels Elite started off the tournament with a 7-1 victory over fellow ally Rebels Arellano, followed by a 10-0 win over Hotspurs Navy. The boys then defeated LA Galaxy San Diego 4-2, followed by a 1-0 victory over Rangers Lorenzo, earning the title of champions. 

2009 (GIRLS U8) BRONZE
CHAMPION: AYSO SOUTH BAY
FINALIST: MURRIETA SURF WHITE GARCIA

AYSO South Bay started off the tournament with a close 5-6 win against DMCV Sharks, followed by a 4-2 win against Rebels Gold. The girls then defeated Murrieta Surf White 2-3, and when faced again for the final, the girls defeated Murrieta Surf White 6-1, being crowned champions. 

2008 (BOYS U9) GOLD
CHAMPION: REBELS PORTILLA
FINALIST: LA GALAXY SAN DIEGO MEDINA

Rebels Portilla started off the tournament with a big 12-0 shutout against Atlante San Diego FC, followed by a 9-0 shutout against DMCV Sharks Crawford. The boys then defeated Liverpool Red McDonald 5-1, followed by a 2-1 victory over LA Galaxy San Diego, earning the title of champions.  

2008 (GIRLS U9) GOLD
CHAMPION: CDA SLAMMERS FC CRUZ
FINALIST: OVC GIGANTE

CDA Slammers FC started off the tournament with a 5-2 win over Liverpool Red, followed by a 6-1 win over Barca Cantera. The girls then shutout Murrieta Surf 3-0 followed by a 7-0 shutout over OVC Gigante, and were crowned champions. 

2008 (BOYS U9) SILVER
CHAMPION: ALBION SC SO ACADEMY KORYTOSKI
FINALIST: ALBION SC PREMIER YAMAZAKI

Albion SC SO Academy Korytoski started off the tournament with a 5-0 shutout against Barca Cantera David, followed by a 8-1 win over Barca Cantera Green. The boys then defeated Chula Vista FC 7-5 , followed by a 1-0 victory over fellow ally Albion SC Premier Yamazaki, earning the title of champions.

2008 (GIRLS U9) SILVER
CHAMPION: SURF ACADEMY BETANCOURT
FINALIST: ALBION SC SOUTH ACADEMY

Surf Academy started off the tournament with a 6-1 win over Rebels SC, followed by a close 5-4 win over Albion SC South Academy. The boys then defeated Matrix Bonita 5-4, and were crowned champions after they once again defeated Albion SC South Academy, 4-2.

2008 (BOYS U9) BRONZE
CHAMPION: SAN DIEGO UNITED BL GOUCHER
FINALIST: ALBION SC PREMIER LUCERO

San Diego United started off the tournament with a 3-2 victory over DMCV Sharks, followed by another 3-2 victory over Albion SC Premier. The boys then defeated SD Force Academy 4-2, followed by another victory over Albion SC Premier, 2-0, earning the title of champions.

2008 (GIRLS U9) BRONZE
CHAMPION: SDRME VELOZ
FINALIST: SD FORCE FC FORCE

SDRME started off the tournament with 2-0 win against Albion SC madrigal, followed by a 5-0 shutout against Liverpool Premier. The girls then had an impressive 15-0 shutout against Rebels Blue sending them to the final where they defeated SD Force FC 2-5, earning the title of champions. 

2007 (BOYS U10) GOLD
CHAMPION: RANGERS SC BLUE
FINALIST: LEGENDS FC

Rangers SC Blue started off the tournament with a 2-1 win over LA Galaxy Pre-Academy, followed by a 1-0 win against DMCV Sharks. All the boys lost 3-7 to Legends FC, they buckled down and defeated them 1-0 in the final to win the trophy. 

2007 (GIRLS U10) GOLD
CHAMPION: REBELS ELITE FLORES
FINALIST: DMCV SHARKS GRIGGS

 

DMCV Sharks started off the tournament with a 3-1 win against Rebels Elite Flores, followed by a 2-1 win against San Diego Surf. The girls then defeated LA Galaxy Pre-Academy 1-0 followed by another 3-2 victory over Revel Elite Flores, earning the title of champions. 

2007 (BOYS U10) SILVER
CHAMPION: ALBION SC SD PREMIER YAMAZAKI
FINALIST: REBELS SC ELITE 1 FLORES

Albion SC San Diego started off the tournament with a 2-0 win against Rebels SC Gold, followed by a 5-0 shutout against fellow ally Albion SC SO Academy. The boys then defeated Rebels SC Elite 2-1 and then repeated the victory against Rebels SC Elite with another 2-1 win, earning the title of champions. 

2007 (GIRLS U10) SILVER
CHAMPION: SD FORCE FC WALLACE
FINALIST: LA GALAXY SD PREMIER ECKERLIN

SD Force FC started off the tournament with a 3-5 win over CSC Red, followed by 2-0 win over Vista Storm. The girls then shutout DMCV Sharks 3-0, and were crowned champions after a 3-1 victory over LA Galaxy SD.  

 

2007 (BOYS U10) BRONZE
CHAMPION: OLYMPICOS SC LOPEZ
FINALIST: SD REAL MADRID VIDRIO

Olympicos SC started off the tournament with a bang, with a 10-1 victory over Rebels White, followed by a 9-5 win over SD Force. The boys then defeated Murrieta Surf 7-3, followed by a 1-0 win over West Coast. The boys were then crowned champions after a 2-3 win over SD Real Madrid. 

2007 (GIRLS U10) BRONZE
CHAMPION: SD FORCE ACADEMY II WALLACE
FINALIST: REBELS BLUE WOOD

SD Force Academy started off the tournament with a big 8-0 shutout against Rebels SC White, followed by a 6-1 win over Vaqueros Wardlow. The girls then defeated Riptide Warriors 4-0 followed by a 3-0 shutout against Rebels Blue, earning the title of champions. 

2006 (GIRLS U11) GOLD
CHAMPION: ALBION ACADEMY
FINALIST: REBELS ELITE MARTINEZ

Albion started off the tournament with a 2-1 win against Murrieta  Surf , followed by a 4-0 win against Rebels Elite. The girls then defeated LA Galaxy SD 2-0, and were crowned champions after a 2-1 win over Rebels Elite. 

 

2006 (BOYS U11) SILVER
CHAMPION: LA GALAXY SAN DIEGO ELITE JONES
FINALIST: REBELS GAMBOA

La Galaxy started off the tournament with a 3-1 win over San Clemente Surf, followed by a 5-1 win over Albion SC SO Academy. The boys then defeated Riptide SC 5-1, followed by a 2-1 win over Rebels Gamboa, earning the title of champions.  

2006 (GIRLS U11) SILVER
CHAMPION: LA GALAXY SOUTH BAY GOLD
FINALIST: SAN DIEGO UNITED BLACK ROMERO

LA Galaxy South Bay started off the tournament with a 2-0 win against San Diego United, followed by a 6-1 win over San Clemente Surf. The girls then defeated Revels Gold 1-3, and were crowned champions after a 3-2 victory over San Diego United. 

2006 (BOYS U11) BRONZE
CHAMPION: ALBION PREMIER REINTGEN
FINALIST: SD FORCE ACADEMY

Albion Premier started off the tournament with a 4-2 win over Rebels SC, followed by a 4-4 tie against SD Force Academy. The boys then defeated fellow ally Albion SC Premier 10-3, followed by a 4-3 victory over SD Force Academy, earning the title of champions. 

2006 (GIRLS U11) BRONZE
CHAMPION: BARCA CANTERA DINERO
FINALIST: SAN DIEGO SURF ACADEMY RAIRDON

Barca Cantera started off the tournament with a 4-3 win over San Diego Surf Academy, followed by a 2-2 tie against Hotspurs USA. The girls then defeated Riptide SC 2-0, and were crowned champions after a 1-0 win over San Diego Surf Academy. 

2005 (BOYS U12) GOLD
CHAMPION: REBELS GOLD HIATT
FINALIST: NOMADS DA

Rebels Gold started off the tournament with a 1-0 win against Murrieta Surf, followed by a 3-3 tie against DMCV Sharks. The boys then defeated Nomads DA 4-1, and faced them again in the final, but once again were victorious with a 1-0 shutout, and were crowned champions. 

2005 (GIRLS U12) GOLD
CHAMPION: REBELS GOLD MARTINEZ
FINALIST: MURRIETA SURF

Rebels Gold started off the tournament with a 4-0 shutout against Oxnard United, followed by 3-1 win against fellow ally Rebels Hugo. The girls then shutout Murrieta Surf 4-0, and faced Murrieta Surf again in the final, and again were victorious with a 1-0 shutout, earning the title of champions. 

2005 (BOYS U12) SILVER

FINALIST: SD FORCE ACADEMY P. CURRIE

Atlante SDFC started off the tournament with a 2-1 win over LA Galaxy San Diego, followed by a 3-1 win over Rebels Academy. The boys then defeated CSC Red 4-3, and were crowned champions after a 4-2 victory over SD Force Academy. 

2005 (GIRLS U12) SILVER
CHAMPION: FC GOLDEN STATE PDA
FINALIST: SAN LUIS OBISPO SC STORM

FC Golden State started off the tournament with a 4-0 shutout against Rebels Blue, followed by 3-1 win over LA Galaxy SB. The girls then defeated Rebels White 2-1, followed by a 2-0 victory shutout against San Luis Obispo SC, earning the title of champions. 

2005 (BOYS U12) BRONZE
CHAMPION: MILAN UNITED FC
FINALIST: REBELS V. LOPEZ

Milan United started off the tournament with a bang with an 11-0 shutout against Rebels B05, followed by a 2-0 shutout against Rebels V. Lopez. The boys continued their shutout streak with a 9-0 win over Barca Cantera and a 1-0 victory over Rebels V. Lopez, earning the title of champions. 

2005 (GIRLS U12) BRONZE
CHAMPION: TEMECULA VALLEY HAWKS BLACK
FINALIST: LIVERPOOL SC RED ANDERSON

Temecula Valley Hawks started off the tournament with a 1-0 win against Riptide, followed by a 0-0 tie against Liverpool  SC. The girls then defeated Rebels 4-0, and had to face Liverpool SC once again, but this time were victorious and were crowned champions, after a 4-0 shutout. 

2004 (BOYS U13) GOLD
CHAMPION: REBELS ELITE ALEU
FINALIST: DMCV SHARKS PEJKIC

Rebels Elite started off the tournament with a 10-0 shutout against San Diego Real Madrid, followed by 1-1 tie against Aztecs FC. The boys then defeated DMCV Sharks 2-0 and advanced to the final where they would face each other again, and again Rebels Elire was victorious with a 2-0 shutout; earning the title of champions. 

2004 (GIRLS U13) GOLD
CHAMPION: REBELS ELITE LEWIS
FINALIST: LEAHI PREMIER

Rebels Elite started off the tournament with a 1-0 win against Leahi Premier, followed by a 2-1 against Hotspurs Premier. The girls then defeated Notts Forest FC 2-0, and were crowned champions after a 3-0 shutout against Leahi Premier.

FINALIST: SD FORCE FC ACADEMY GOLD

Rebels Academy Gold started off the tournament with a 5-0 shutout against Santa Monica United, followed by a 5-1 win over Vista Storm. The boys then shutout Albion SC Premier 5-0, followed by a 2-0 victory over SD Force Academy, earning the title of champions.

CHAMPION: REBELS BLUE / DARE
FINALIST: SAN LUIS OBISPO SC STORM

Rebels started off the tournament with a 9-1 win against AYSO Matrix Bonita, followed by a 4-0 shutout against San Clemente Surf. The girls then defeated San Diego United 4-0, and were crowned champions after a 2-1 victory over San Luis Obispo SC. 

2004 (BOYS U13) BRONZE
CHAMPION: LEGENDS BLACK
FINALIST: MURRIETA SURF BLUE CLARK

Legends started off the tournament with a 4-0 win against LA Galaxy Carlsbad, followed by a 3-0 win against Rebels SC. The boys then tied 0-0 with Riptide and after a 2-0 victory against Murrieta Surf, were crowned champions.

FINALIST: DMCV SHARKS ARNESEN

SD Force Academy started off the tournament with a 9-1 win against Rebels White, followed by a 0-3 win against LA Galaxy South Bay. The girls then defeated Rebels Blue 2-0, followed by a 1-0 win against DMCV Sharks, earning the title of champions.

FINALIST: REBELS SC F1 ORTIZ

Rebels Elite started off the tournament with a 1-0 win against Sporting San Diego, followed by another 1-0 win against SD Force Academy. The boys then defeated Scripps United 5-1, followed by a 1-0 victory over fellow ally Rebels SC Ortiz.

CHAMPION: REBELS ELITE MARQUEZ
FINALIST: TOTAL FUTBOL ACADEMY SD

Rebels Elite started off the tournament with a 3-1 win over BYSC Corona United Academy, followed by a 4-2 win over Total Futbol Academy SD. The girls then defeated Leahi 2-1, and were crowned champions after a 4-1 win over Total Futbol Academy SD. 

2003 (BOYS U14) SILVER
CHAMPION: ALBION SC PREMIER RAEIHLE
FINALIST: LA GALAXY GOLD MARTIN

Albion SC started off the tournament with a 5-0 shutout against Rebels White, followed by a 2-0 shutout against LA Galaxy Gold. The boys then defeated San Diego SC 3-1, followed by a 3-1 win over LA Galaxy Gold, earning the title of champions. 

2003 (GIRLS U14) SILVER
CHAMPION: POWAY VAQUEROS J WILLRICH
FINALIST: ALBION PREMIER/JOHNSON

Poway Vaqueros started off the tournament with a 3-0 shutout against DMCV Sharks, followed by another 3-0 shutout against Legends FC. The girls then defeated LA Galaxy San Diego 2-0, and were crowned champions after a 5-3 victory over Albion Premier. 

2003 (BOYS U14) BRONZE
CHAMPION: BARCA CANTERA
FINALIST: LA JOLLA IMPACT

Barca Cantera started off the tournament with an 8-0 shutout against Scripps United, followed by a 5-0 shutout against LA Galaxy San Diego. The boys then defeated La Jolla Impact 4-1, and defeated them again 5-3 in the final; earning the title of champions. 

2003 (GIRLS U14) BRONZE
CHAMPION: NFFC BLACK HARVEY
FINALIST: SAN DIEGO UNITED WHITE

NFFC started off the tournament with a 2-1 win against Rebels SC, followed by a 0-0 tie against La Jolla Impact. The girls then defeated the Rangers 1-0, and were crowned champions after a 1-0 victory against San Diego United. 

2002 (GIRLS U15) SILVER
CHAMPION: REBELS SC ELITE ORTEGA
FINALIST: DMCV SHARKS BOROWINSKI

Rebels SC started off the tournament with a 3-0 shutout against Murrieta Surf, followed by 0-0 tie against DMCV Sharks. The girls then defeated Poway Vaqueros 3-1 and once again faced DMCV Sharks, however were victorious this time with a 2-3 win; earning the title of champions. 

2002 (GIRLS U15) BRONZE
CHAMPION: REBELS SC GOLD KIKO
FINALIST: LIVERPOOL PREMIER

Rebels SC started off the tournament with a 5-0 shutout against Escondido FC Heat, followed by a 1-1 tie against Liverpool Premier. The girls then defeated AYSO Bonita Matrix 3-1, and were crowned champions after facing Liverpool Premier again in the final, except this time were victorious with an exciting 4-3 win. 

2000 (BOYS U17)
CHAMPION: LA JOLLA IMPACT
FINALIST: SD FORCE FC GOLD

La Jolla Impact started off the tournament with a 4-1 win against Rebels SC, followed by a 1-1 tie against Notts Forest. The boys then defeated CDA Slammers 2-0, followed by a 1-0 victory over SD Force FC, earning the title of champions. 

2000 (GIRLS U17) FLIGHT 2
CHAMPION: EL CENTRO DYNAMO
FINALIST: REBELS SC PHAM

El Centro Dynamo started off the tournament with a 2-0 shutout, followed by a 4-0 shutout against Liverpool SC. The girls then defeated Riptide Blue 2-0, and were crowned champions after a 6-2 victory over Rebels SC. 


A new feature that was added for this year’s tournament was the College Showcase for U16 and U17 teams. “We are very glad we expanded the tournament for the first time, to include a College Showcase,” added Martinez, “We plan to expand the College Showcase even further next year.”
