The U.S. U-17 Women’s National Team rolled through its group stage and has now advanced to the championship match at the Torneo Delle Nazioni in Italy.

There are six California natives on the roster and they include defenders Kennedy Wesley (SoCal Blues; Rossmoor) and Kate Wiesner (Slammers FC; Monrovia) and midfielders Maya Doms (Davis Legacy; Davis), Mia Fishel (San Diego Surf), and Madison Mercado (San Diego Surf).

The U.S. opened up group play with a 1-1 draw against Slovenia, which was followed by a 4-0 victory over Mexico in the second match. Natives Wiesner and Doms both scored for the U.S. in this match. In the final group stage match, the U.S. defeated England 2-0.

The U.S. will now face Italy in the championship match on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m.
