It’s official! The rumors of Giovani Dos Santos joining La Galaxy has finally been transcribed into reality. Giovani Dos Santos is expected to join the squad in August after the Gold Cup,  depending on his receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

Giovani Dos Santos was a prominent member of the FC Barcelona Academy, and joined at the age of 11. Dos Santos managed to rise above the ranks and make it to the first team. From FCB he was transferred to the Tottenham Hotspurs of the English Premier League. At the age of 26 he was signed to Villarreal where he made a grand impact on the team and created a lot of success through his gameplay.image

Dos Santos has played a pivotal role for the Mexican National team. One of his best performances was the 2011 Gold Cup Final. With such class, he managed to dribble the ball past three defenders and Tim Howard. As he floated the ball to the top left corner of the goal, the defender guarding that post made last ditch effort at heading it out but couldn’t reach.

LA Galaxy Head Coach Bruce Arena is excited about bringing him on board and said, “he has experience and success competing at the highest level and we believe he will only continue to develop. We are happy to add him to our roster and have confidence he can be an integral part of our success going forward.” Arena definitely hit the nail on the head with that statement. With the vision of Steven Gerrard, the striker savvy of Robbie Keane, the added speed and technical ability of Dos Santos, and a young eager forward named Gyasi Zardes, the Galaxy could be the next team to lift the MLS Trophy. #BienveniDosSantos!
