SDSU goes above and beyond to create a fun family atmosphere for fans

If you have a soccer-loving family, and if you’re within driving distance of SDSU, going to a game or two this Fall needs to be on your list of activities. Last Friday, SDSU’s home opener against USD was a blast. And there are plenty more home games to come.

Coach Lev Kirshner told me, “I want to thank San Diego for coming out. Our players always have little more motivation to perform and display their skills in front of a packed house.”

He added, “Hopefully, we were able to illustrate a good brand of football for those young players in attendance to emulate.”

SDSU 2 :: USD 3

SDSU and USD put on a show for the crowd of over 1600, with USD coming from 2-0 down to win the game 3-2. The game had it all. Physical play. Smart possession play. A PK goal. Amazing saves. “Wonder Strikes.”

Aside from the soccer on the field, SDSU created a party-like atmosphere. There was a bounce-house for the kids, cheerleaders, and the SDSU spirit band. Even the cross-town USD supporters were loving the environment at the game.

Next SDSU home game: Friday night, September 6th at 7pm

SDSU’s next home game is the kick off of the “COURTYARD SAN DIEGO CENTRAL AZTEC SOCCER CLASSIC.” USD and SDSU are co-hosting the round-robin tournament over the weekend. SDSU will host Belmont from Nashville at 7pm on the SDSU Sportsdeck. Coach Kershnir told me, “We won the Classic last year. We are looking to win back to back titles for first time.”

HERE is a link to SDSU’s schedule.
