SAN DIEGO – On Sunday, August 9th, Seattle Sounders was playing against LA Galaxy. With 50 seconds on the clock, San Diego native Chad Barrett scored a brilliant goal and while celebrating, pulled his hamstring.

The goal came early for the Sounders, but the price they paid was high. After getting the end of a cross from Erik Friberg, Chad tucked the ball into the goal, putting the Sounders in front 1-0. As soon as he scored the goal, he ran off in celebration and seconds after taking off he placed his hand on his hamstring, as he felt down. The striker had to leave the pitch minutes into a massive match. This was a really important goal for the Sounders, as they were playing against a tough LA Galaxy team ranked No. 2 in the MLS Western Conference.

The Sounders who were already missing stars like Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins due to injuries, were not able to capitalize on their 1 goal advantage and ended up losing the game by 3-1. This loss is the eight in nine games for the Seattle team. They have 10 loss and 10 games to go, as this marks their record for losses.
