Two Minnesota Clubs, REV SC and Woodbury SC, have merged to become Salvo SC

The english definition of the word “Salvo” is “a spirited, coordinated attack.” Salvo can also mean “a round of cheers or applause.” Two Minnesota clubs, REV SC and Woobury SC, realized they could better serve their communities by joining together, and Salvo SC was born. Salvo SC’s purpose is to deliver the best holistic youth soccer development in Minnesota.

“The soccer landscape is changing rapidly, especially with youth development and in particular the elevation of women in the sport,” said Soccerloco CEO John Lococo. “We are excited to be part of this growth in the Minnesota soccer community, and share this passion with Salvo Soccer Club’s youth program, the new WPSL opportunity, and their incredible staff.”

Salvo SC brings together over 4,000 Minnesota soccer athletes. Players for Salvo SC range from ages four to 45+ at the community, state, regional and national levels. The club’s mission statement says, “Salvo SC builds confidence in teams and players, on and off the field. Whether competing at the Community level or highest levels in the Nation, Salvo SC is focused on enabling players to reach their greatest potential.”

Partnering with Soccerloco made perfect sense to Salvo SC. “Salvo Soccer Club is excited to be working with Soccerloco,” said Lisa Wolf, Salvo SC Executive Director.  “Our goal is to provide the best experience we can both on and off the field for our players and families, including their apparel and gear.  We are confident that Soccerloco will help us provide that.”

The best gear on the best fields

Finding training time and field space is difficult in sunny Southern California. It’s even harder in Minnesota. Indoor training facilities are necessary and difficult to acquire. Salvo SC, through strategic partnerships, has access to the most indoor and outdoor field time in the state of Minnesota.

Results

In addition to positive impacts to the communities in which Salvo families live and play, Salvo SC teams also bring home championships. Many Salvo SC teams recently won Minnesota state championships and continue to dominate in regional tournaments.

Enhanced opportunities for players and families

Salvo SC’s vision is to provide high quality developmental experiences for our youth players, families, coaches, referees, and staff. Salvo SC will provide enhanced individual player and team based opportunities at all levels of play. Access to new leagues, programs, events and facilities will help Salvo SC serve their community even more.

Girls DA and WPSL

Tryouts for Girls DA are June 15-16

One example of increased opportunity is Salvo SC’s recent acceptance into US Soccer’s Girls DA program. Another is Salvo SC’s participation in the WPSL. The WPSL is in its 22nd season and is the largest women’s soccer league in the world with 119 clubs across the country. WPSL rosters feature elite collegiate, post-collegiate, international and standout prep student-athletes.

Grassroots to Pro Pathways

Salvo SC now provides a soccer home for players at all levels of play. The club will equip its players with the highest level of development, training, and league play in the country. Salvo SC builds confidence in teams and players, on and off the field. Whether competing at the community level or highest levels in the nation, Salvo SC is focused on enabling players to reach their greatest potential.
