IRVINE, Calif. (August 28, 2015) – Looking to bounce back from a road loss, Orange County Blues FC (11-9-3, 36 pts) returns to Anteater Stadium Saturday to take on Portland Timbers 2 (10-12-2, 32 pts), with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. PT.

The Blues saw their four-match win streak snapped by Austin Aztex this past weekend. After a scoreless first half, Aztex forward Kris Tyrpak scored his eighth goal of the season in the 70th minute, and Austin held on for a 1-0 win.

Timbers 2 is coming off a 2-0 win against Tulsa Roughnecks FC, their first home shutout of the season. Forward Kharlton Belmar earned his 12th goal of the season in the 51st minute, with midfielder Fatawu Safiu following stride 30 minutes later to score the final goal of the match.

This will be the second meeting between the two clubs this season. In the previous matchup at Portland, the Blues came away with a 2-0 victory. With both clubs still in playoff contention, Saturday’s match will be an important meeting to earn those three points. OC is tied for fifth in the Western Conference with the Roughnecks, while T2 currently sits four points behind the final playoff spot.

Blues fans should arrive early for our Soccer For Hope Night. There will be silent auctions to benefit children’s hospitals nationwide.
