At long last the Neymar Jr’s Five Global Soccer Tournament has returned to San Diego. Originally developed by Neymar Jr himself, this competition is one of the most entertaining opportunities to compete for a world championship.
- WHO:In this signature event for male and female players, teams will compete in a unique five-a-side knockout tournament to determine San Diego’s best. This year’s tournament is comprised of teams of five to seven players aged 18 to 25, but two of the seven players can be any age above 25. Neymar Jr helped devise a special twist: a five-player team loses one player each time they concede a goal until there are no players left, or the 10-minute game ends. The first place team will win an all-expenses paid trip to Miami in June to represent San Diego at the U.S. Finals.
- WHAT:PSG and Brazilian futbol star Neymar Jr. is bringing the third edition of his global soccer tournament, Neymar Jr’s Five, to San Diego on May 12th. San Diego is the last of West Coast U.S. Qualifiers, with the event taking place at Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center. Registration for the tournament is just $30 per team and the top team in San Diego wins a trip to Miami to compete against the rest of the country on June 9th.More than 100,000 players from 53 countries signed up to play in the second year of Neymar Jr’s Five and 2018 promises to be even bigger, as we have 16 qualifiers in the U.S. spanning from San Diego to New York and everywhere in-between. The U.S. Champion, will be flown to Brazil to take part in the Neymar Jr’s Five world finals, with the opportunity to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Paris.
