International play resulted in an abridged schedule for Major League Soccer over Easter Weekend. In total, just six teams played with all the matches being held on Saturday.  Below are quick and easy to read recaps from this past weekend’s action.

FC Dallas (3) vs. D.C. United (0)

FC Dallas picked closed out the month of March with a 3-0 road win over D.C. United on Saturday. Michael Barrios recorded a first half brace and newcomer, Maximiliano Urruti, added a third goal seven minutes into the second half. The victory is the third for FC Dallas in four matches. On the other hand, D.C. United has picked up just two points in four matches.

New York City FC (1) vs. New England Revolution (1)

The start of the 2016 season hasn’t been as kind to NYCFC as they’d like when playing at home. For the third time this season, NYCFC has failed to win any of its home games. This past weekend, despite being up a man for the majority of the second half, NYCFC played the New England Revolution to a 1-1 draw. Positives for NYCFC is the continued performance from Thomas McNamara, who knocked home his second goal of the season. New England’s goal came from the Chris Tierney on a free kick.

Vancouver Whitecaps (1) vs. Houston Dynamo (0)

The Vancouver Whitecaps picked up their second win in a row thanks to Pedro Morales converting a penalty in the 23rd minute. The call was without controversy as Houston’s Jalil Anibaba tripped Masato Kudo in the box on a high cross that looked unreachable. For Houston, it’s their second loss in a row after they smashed FC Dallas earlier this season.
