Manchester United Unveils Stunning Away Kit for 2016-17 Season

After a string of disappointing seasons following Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement, expectations are once again raised at Manchester United with the appointment of proven Premier League winner Jose Mourinho and the additions of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and possibly Paul Pogba. These new squad members along with Old Trafford returnees Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial, Juan Mata and rest of the first team will be sporting the latest Manchester United home kit just released by adidas when they kick off the new season in the coming weeks.

Inspired by the club’s early days as Newtown Heath LYR Football Club, the new home jersey uses a two-tone red split design like the 1878 kit and takes cues from Manchester United’s decorated history. The honeycomb design that splits the two shades of red is a representation of the “worker bee” which can be seen in the club crest and originates from the Industrial Revolution. Manchester’s strong work ethic is part of the club’s DNA and something every fan and player should feel when they pull on this jersey.

Contrasting white adidas stripes run down each side from the armpits of the red top and the adidas logo is embroidered opposite the club crest. Traditional white shorts and black socks complete the recognizable look.
