LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake face off for the second time this season at the StubHub Center in Carson, CA, in the next iteration of the profound rivalry that has developed over the past few seasons.
LA Galaxy ended its five-game winless streak last week against Houston Dynamo, while Real are coming off a 2-0 win against New York City FC this past Saturday.
The first meeting between the two clubs finished a scoreless draw at the Rio Tinto Stadium in Utah, which saw Los Angeles awarded a decisive penalty during stoppage time. Nick Rimando saved Real Salt Lake from a loss that afternoon by stopping substitute Juninho’s late penalty kick. Galaxy goalkeeper, Jaime Penedo made six saves during the match with five coming in the second half.
With Galaxy and Real currently tied in points, Los Angeles will now be looking to edge its competitor in the Western Conference standings.
The match begins at 10:30 PM ET tonight to kick off week 13 of the MLS.
