Domino-effect of Recent Postponements
SD Loyal’s midweek match at LA Galaxy II was postponed on Wednesday July 29. LA Galaxy II announced eleven positive COVID-19 test results across club staff (players, coaches, team staff).
LA Galaxy II’s most recent game had been a 1-0 loss to Sacramento Republic on Saturday July 25th.
Out of an abundance of caution, the midweek game between Orange County Soccer Club and Sacramento Republic was cancelled, since Sacramento Republic had played against LA Galaxy 2 so recently.
100% Negative COVID-19 tests for Sacramento Republic
Justifiably, fans are nervous about another potential game postponement. SD Loyal and Sac Republic fans were all relieved to see this news in the Sacramento Bee on Friday:
“Sac Republic went through USL protocols, including testing players, coaches and staff. A league source told The Sacramento Bee on Thursday night that everyone tested negative.”
