FIFA 2017 dropped on Tuesday and as always there is major debate and discussion on who is rated too high, who is rated too low, and of course, who got snubbed.

In this year’s edition, there are 13 players with a 75 or higher rating. Tim Howard is the highest rated with an 81 and Michael Bradley is the second highest at 80. After that it’s a logjam of players ranging from 79-75. The 13 players rated higher than 75 is an improvement from last year’s edition which had 10 players above 10. Looking back at the last five years, this is the best in terms of players above 75.

2016 – 10

However, the majority of these players are the already established veterans like Clint Dempsey, Omar Gonzalez, Geoff Cameron, Alejandro Bedoya. The youngest player above 75 is John Brooks who is 23 years old. After him its Jozy Altidore and Darlington Nagbe at 26 years old. 

The next generation of American players like Christian Pulisic, Bobby Wood, and Matt Miazga are all below 75. However, that can change with updates throughout the season. Though, Pulisic is way too low.

For the women, the Americans have six players all ranked higher than 86. Carli Lloyd is the highest rated player in the game with Megan Rapinoe coming in as the second highest rated.
