It’s an exciting time for youth soccer everywhere. The sun is gleaming as kids all over the nation are lacing up their boots in anticipation of a riveting soccer-filled summer. Want to know where the best youth soccer is being played around the country? Starting from June 22-28, The Far West Regional League (FWRL) is hosting the region IV championships in Boise, Idaho. In this competition, youth soccer players from all over the western half of the country compete in a prestigi tournament that will not only get them college exposure, but will earn them a spot in the national championship to face the top teams from all over the country.

HOW IT WORKS:
The FWRL is divided into 4 regions, Region, I, II, III, and IV. Each host their own league specific to their region. Region IV is comprised of the California (CA-N, CA-S), Desert (AZ, CO, HI, NM, NV, UT), and Northwest (AK, ID, MT, OR, WA, WY, BC) areas. Out of 238 boys and girls clubs that represent region IV, The top 96 teams from ages u-13 to u-19 are invited to compete in the FWRL.

Exposure:

If you are a younger player, 14 and under, this is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with potential colleges that you have interest in. Many college coaches from all over the country recognize the prestige of this tournament and make sure they’ve got eyes out there scoping the talent. If you are in high school, you want to make sure that you get in contact with the schools you have interest in and invite them to watch you play.  Even if you haven’t targeted your colleges of choice, there is always the possibility that a scout is watching you play.
