The 4th annual Albion SC Development Showcase took place January 7 & 8, 2017 in beautiful San Diego, California. According to Tournament Director Wayne Crowe, the showcase was started by Albion Soccer Club when they realized a need in the market. “Albion SC wanted to offer an elite competition in Southern California in January,” said Crowe. “To give younger teams an opportunity to regroup after the season and prepare for the Cal South State Cup.”

The Development Showcase originally focused on U7-U10 teams, but as the tournament grew, U12, U13, and U14 teams were also included. In fact, teams from all over the region participate in the tournament – from Arizona, Nevada and even Texas.

“Top competition brings out the best in players,” added Crowe. “Our goal is to give these teams a chance to be a part of an elite event.” And the Development Showcase is just that. One of the top tournaments in Southern California, the Development Showcase is sponsored by Soccerloco, Gatorade and Puma, and gives teams a chance to feel like the pros with a top notch set-up including a canopy with seating and complimentary Gatorade – all on a high quality field in beautiful San Diego.

“The Albion SC Development Showcase opened the year with some very competitive games and top teams from all over Region IV,” said Noah Gins, Albion CEO/Executive Director. “With close to 200 teams, the Showcase was one of the best weekends of soccer that I have been a part of. We look forward to building the event out, to have some of the top teams in the nation.”
