SAN DIEGO – The state of California will be well represented at the international level as a combined 20 natives have been called up to the U-16 GNT, U-18 MNT, and U-23 MNT.

The U-18 MNT is the only team out of the three that will compete in an international friendly, which is being held in Sweden for the 2015 Open Nordic Cup Tournament from July 30 to August 10. Schedule for the U-18 MNT: Faroe Islands August 4, Iceland August 5, Sweden August 7.

The other two teams are holding training camp in California. The U-16 GNT will be at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista from August 1-9, and is an early identification camp for U.S. Soccer, who is looking for players to compete in the 2020 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.  The U-23 MNT is a College Identification camp that will be held at the U.S. National Training Center is Carson from August 5-8. The purpose of this camp is to identify players prior to qualifying for the 2013 Summer Olympics. Olympic qualifying will be held in the U.S. in October.
