SoccerNation Preview – 3 Things to Watch: Albion Pros vs FC Hasental

Albion SC Pros are coming off a strong pre-season where they claimed massive victories over NPSL Playoff team Real San Jose in front of over 2000 fans, a win over crosstown rival and US Open Cup Challenger Chula Vista FC, and finally a huge statement win over LA Galaxy II in Los Angeles. They look to extend their form into the regular season of the National Premier Soccer League Southwest Conference.

The game is expected to be wildly energetic with Coras making the Home Opener an event that the Riverside Mayor might even attend.

Here are three things to look out for when they take on a very strong Deportivo Coras team in Riverside for the NPSL season opener:

  1. Can Albion Pros keep the hype machine going with another important win on the road against a division title challenger?

Deportivo Coras is a team on the rise with goals of winning the Southwest Division title. Last year they narrowly missed out on claiming the crown in their inaugural NPSL season. Coras has repeatedly stated in their preseason messages that they are hungry to win the division title in 2016. Albion Pros is the first obstacle. The Pros have taken their ambitions one step further, aiming to compete for the National NPSL title in their expansion year. They have already played in front of over 3,000 people, had a skydiver deliver a game ball and beat an USL team in their first few months of forming. A convincing win at one of conference’s best teams should prove that Albion Pros have arrived in grand fashion.

  1. Albion Pros recently added proven firepower in Matt Clare, Tre Hayes and Danny Delgado, can the trio add goals and creativity immediately?

The trio have been training with the full squad for the last few weeks. Clare is a skillfully quick, crafty forward with a proven nose for goal. This past MASL season, he scored 29 goals for the San Diego Sockers. Hayes scored against LA Galaxy II with a striker’s finish by bullying his way past the defender and firing into the bottom corner. Delgado was formerly drafted into the MLS, but came back to San Diego to finish his bachelors at University of San Diego (USD). This trio will look to add goals to a Pros team with talents such as PDL product Marquis Brooks and Brazilian speedster Douglas Andrade who have already scored pre-season goals.

  1. Albion Pros culture will be on show!

Coach Ziggy Korytoski said, [quote_center]“We want to build a culture of consistency. Yes, special players need to step up and make a ‘moment’ for themselves, but at the end of the day when one player scores, Albion scores.” He went on to say, “We will play our way. We will stay organized defensively, keep possession in the attacking half and execute our game plan.”[/quote_center] You will see hooped jerseys flying around the pitch looking to imprint their style on the game from the first minute!

It is a big first day for Albion Pros in their quest to be National NPSL Champions. Deportivo Coras provides a stern test, but the Pros are hopeful that their preparation, player quality and ambitious culture will take them to the top of the league.
