Women's Soccer News: WPSL Western New York Flash Reach Into Youth Community
The Western New York Flash of the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL)Elite Leagueis proud to announce the second annual Adopt-A-Team program. Adopt-A-Team is when each Flash player adopts a Western New York soccer team and keeps in contact with them throughout the season, creating a bond with the youth soccer players.
This program allows the professional players to create a personal relationship with the youth soccer players in the WNY area, influencing them positively on and off the field. Each adopted team has the opportunity to attend a match for free, watch a game-day practice on the field at Sahlen’s Stadium, and get a picture with their sponsoring player. Adopted teams will also participate in the Adopt-A-Team Fun Day which will be held at Sahlen’s Sports Park, 7070 Seneca Street Elma, N.Y. More than 200 teams registered for the program. A draft was held on Friday, June 1, to determine which teams would be adopted and by what player. The result of the draft is as follows:
