San Diego Soccer News: San Diego Fusion Set for VAVI Beach Blast

Battle against Shoreline Soccer Club in Sand Soccer exhibition on Saturday The San Diego Sockers' top developmental team, the San Diego Fusion, will be part of the action at the 3rd annual Vavi Beach Blast taking place this Saturday, October 16th at Mariner's Point in Mission Beach.

Fusion players (including select members of the San Diego Sockers) will take on Shoreline Soccer Club in a 5 v 5 sand soccer contest, starting at 12pm. The Fusion will be entered into the Men's Competitive bracket for the Sand Soccer tournament at the Vavi Beach Blast, which also features beach volleyball and football action. They will rematch against the Shoreline Soccer Club, who played the Fusion tooth and nail last year before San Diego pulled out a hard-fought victory. San Diego Sockers' stars Eric Wunderle, Scotty Martin and Chris Toth are all expected to participate for the Fusion on Saturday.
