College Soccer News: Courtyard by Marriott Partners with UC Riverside for Men's Soccer Invitational

Courtyard by Marriott and the UC Riverside Men's Soccer Team are partnering to bring area soccer fans the UCR/Courtyard by Marriott Soccer Invitational featuring four matches over the weekend of September 14-16.

San Diego State University (SDSU), which joins the Big West Conference next season, takes on Nebraska Omaha of the Summit League at 5:00 p.m. PT on Friday, September 14, while the Highlanders host North Florida of the Atlantic Sun Conference in the nightcap at 8:00 p.m.

On Sunday, September 16, UC Riverside squares off against Nebraska Omaha at 9:30 am, and North Florida and San Diego State finish off the invitational at 3:30 pm.

UC Riverside is currently 5-0-0 in pre-conference action, following a 4-3 double overtime win against UNLV. SDSU is 1-2-1 with a win over Houston Baptist in the Courtyard Marriot SD Central Soccer Tournament September 7-9. Nebraska Omaha comes into the tournament with a 2-2-0 record after defeating Seattle University 3-2 over the weekend. North Florida brings a 3-2-0 record to the series after defeating Georgia Southern University 4-3 on Sunday.

All matches are at the UC Riverside Soccer Stadium on the campus of UC Riverside. Tickets to each day's matches start as low as $2.00, and are available for purchase on-line or by contacting the UC Riverside Athletics Ticket Office at (951) 827-4653.

The first 100 fans in attendance at the Highlanders Friday, September 14 match vs. North Florida will receive a free schedule poster, while Sunday's UC Riverside vs. Nebraska Omaha match features a post-match autograph session with UCR players.
