UC Irvine women’s soccer team (19-3-2) lost 1-0 to Washington in double overtime Saturday night in the third round of the NCAA Tournament at Anteater Stadium.
In the 104th minute, Sarah Martinez passed the ball on to Allie Beahan inside the box as Beahan knocked the ball just outside the reach of senior keeper Danielle de Seriere (Cerritos/Mayfair HS) for the game-winning goal at the 103:52 mark.
The Huskies outshot UCI 14-5 through the first two halves; each team had two shots in the overtime periods.
Danielle de Seriere had nine saves for UC Irvine. Keeper Jorde LaFontaine-Kussman had four saves in earning the shutout for the Huskies.
Washington will travel to face Boston College next week in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament in Boston.
