Legendary soccer players from the United States and Mexico will compete in the Legends Game presented by Bud Light at The Home Depot Center on Sunday, April 15. The match will be part of a larger celebration of the beautiful game that will include the finals of the MLS Copa Bud Light 6v6, a performance by Dareyes de La Sierra, and a special presentation by Anheuser-Busch.

The MLS Copa Bud Light 6v6 is part of an international tournament that included eleven countries around the world. The Copa included regional competitions in California, Nevada and Arizona, with dozens of teams vying for the right to play in the finals. The winner of the tournament on Sunday will represent the USA in England in the Global Beer Championship 2012. In addition, the top two teams receive medals and cash prizes and the winner hoists the MLS Copa Bud Light trophy.

One of the biggest draws of the day, though, will be the match between the U.S. and Mexico Legends teams. The two teams will feature a host of top names, including Cobi Jones, Paul Caligiuri, Thomas Dooley and Eric Wynalda for the USA. On the Mexico side will be Jorge Campos, Mariano Trujillo, Eduardo Missael Espinoza, Ramon Morales and more.

The American team will be directed by Curt Onalfo, who currently is assistant coach with the MLS LA Galaxy and the LA Galaxy Reserves Team head coach. Mexico will be headed by Carlos Reinoso, who has coached Club América.

The day kicks off with the opening rounds of the Copa playoffs, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Following the semifinal matches will be a concert by popular norteño group Dareyes de La Sierra from Sonora, Mexico.

The group has been nominated for a Latin Grammy and has produced several hit songs and albums. The day will also include a presentation by Anheuser-Busch of $15,000 from ticket sales to the Hispanic Scholarship Foundation.

Francisco Palencia for Mexico  Paul Caligiuri for the USA

The first half of the Legends Match will begin about 6:00 p.m., following the concert. In between halves the final match of the MLS Copa Bud Light will take place on the same field, followed by the second half of the Legends Match.
