Youth Soccer News: TVSA HAWKS JUGGLE TO VICTORY

TVSA Hawks had a juggling contest for their U14 and younger soccer players. Alex Esparza Wins Contest.

Juggling anyone?  Alex Esparza who plays on the TVSA Hawks BU13 team for Carlos Basso, was the overall winner if the TVSA Hawks Juggling contest with over 1,000 juggles.

Jake Eisenberg who plays on David Halliday’s U12 team proved he could juggle over 800 times and Jeremiah Minegar who plays for Ryan Halliday on the U8 team can juggle the soccer ball over 100 times.

According to Kelley Collins, "Our Director of Coaching wanted to emphasize skills training so we decided to focus on juggling while our older players were in high school.  We held a 6 week contest and kept track of highest juggles in each age group and tracked who was the most to improve on each team.  Awards were given for both categories."

"It was amazing to see the improvement of the players.  This is a soccer drill that is easy to practice away form the field. Jeremiah, the U8 player who can now do over 100 juggles, has been playing competitive soccer for one year.  Last April he could not juggle at all!  He has been focused and challenged by his coach Halliday. Jeremiah rose to meet those challenges.  In fact I think all players on the U8 team can juggle at least 30 and this translates into a very good touch on the field," says Collins.

Congratulations to all of the Hawks players who worked to improve their soccer game!
