Soccer News: Tiburones United Thanksgiving Weekend Tournament

Tiburones United Futbol Club is hosting the first annual 6 v 6 indoor soccer tournament on Saturday November 26 and Sunday November 27. The tournament will be held at Hot Shotz sports facility on the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Registration for the tournament is open to both professional and amateur teams.

"This tournament will host some of the best players from San Diego County, Orange County, and Mexico," says Martin Torres, TUFC Director of Coaching, "the professional soccer players of today and tomorrow will be battling it out for the title.” Tiburones United Futbol Club, TUFC, announced earlier this year their acceptance into the National Premier Soccer League for the upcoming 2012 season.

The NPSL is the fastest growing professional soccer league in the nation. Southern California currently has the most teams enrolled in the national program and TUFC is one of three NPSL teams in San Diego County.

"This tournament is not just for professional teams," states Mike Marron, VP TUFC, "amateur teams are encouraged to register. There is quite a bit of time before the professional season starts to scout new talent. This tournament will showcase extreme talent."

Spectators are encouraged to come out to support local soccer. Come see the next Messi, Ronaldo, or Beckham play. Admission and parking for both days of the event is free. Soccer apparel company, Freekick, will have on display their latest in soccer fashion. There will be giveaways, prizes, food, music and fun for the whole family.
