Go and be counted...
As the count down to the next World Cup starts, all soccer enthusiasts should join the lobbying effort to get the world class soccer match to be played in our country.

"Lococo Sports has seen a rapidly increasing interest and participation (over the last 14 years), in the world’s most popular sport. Bringing the World Cup back to the United States, and specifically to Southern California, would prove that our soccer fanatic dominant fan base is here to stay. Viewer rating as a soccer community (regardless of your home team preference), fully support the United States’ bid to host the world’s biggest sporting event in either 2018 or 2022 - Bring it” says John Lococo, founder of SoccerFanatic and sponsor partner of SoccerNation.com soccer news.

While many Americans tuned into watch the 2010 World Cup, and enthusiasm for soccer is at a record high in our country, the World Cup in South Africa was not the international draw FIFA had hoped for -- with too many empty seats in the stands.
The fact that the 2010 World Cup was not as financially successful as FIFA wanted can be good news for our country’s hopes of hosting the 2018 or 2022 World Cup.  In fact, the U.S. bid looks better than ever and is in sharp contrast to the financial woes of the South Africa example. Known for our commercial viability, the Unites States would be expected to outperform many other countries and easily provide sold out World Cup matches.

“Our chances of landing the Cup are pretty reasonable,” said U.S. Bid Committee Executive Director David Downs in an interview Monday morning from New York.
The next World Cup - 2014 - will most likely be held in Brazil.

The bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups is currently underway. These will be the 21st and 22nd editions of the FIFA World Cup and FIFA is currently reviewing nine bids for the two upcoming Cups, with Belgium and the Netherlands; and Portugal and Spain submitting joint bids for either Cup alongside England, Russia and the USA; while Australia, Japan, Qatar and South Korea are only bidding for 2022.

The decision who will host the upcoming World Cups will be announced on December 2nd and England is recognized a leading favorite to win 2018 with the U.S. in a tight race for 2022.

There are a lot of Facebook and twitter sites promoting the World Cup come to America but we recommend visiting the official FIFA USA BID website at http://www.gousabid.com/  and sign the petition.  Be counted.  Help the US truly realize its potential as a Soccer Nation.

Sixteen years ago, the United States proudly hosted the FIFA World Cup despite wide spread criticism from many people in the soccer world. Now,when experts review the '94 World Cup, it is looked back on as highly successful and the foundation for soccer's rebirth in our country.

According to the GO USA BID site, the U.S. has moved up one spot to thirteenth in the latest update of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings, released today. USA is the top CONCACAF nation by eleven spots - Mexico is second at twenty-fourth.

This marks the best rank the United States has earned since September 2009, following our second place finish in the Confederations Cup, when FIFA had us as the eleventh best soccer nation. Since the ratings system was introduced in 1992, the highest ever ranking for the USA was fourth, which came in April 2006.
The next match that will affect the United States' ranking will be when we face off against Brazil in a friendly on August 10.
