Skill Training Update: College Preparation Summer Program
Bo Nielsen and Jen Lalor-Nielsen, Former member U.S. Women’s National Team are expert trainers and provide an invaluable program.
This program welcomes:
- Returning college players.
- Incoming college freshmen.
- Interested High School seniors and juniors to be.
Bo Nielsen asks, "Are you really prepared to do well in the 2011 College soccer season?" This is a critical time for serious soccer players who have hopes of succeeding in college and beyond
Did you know? The majority of incoming Freshmen do not come into pre-season prepared for double days and ready to pass their fitness tests. They simply don't know what it takes to play at the college level. This could ultimately mean loss of athletic scholar ship or terminate the hopes and dreams of a walk-on roster spot.
Returning Sophmores, Juniors and Seniors have a tendency to not work as hard in the Summer either because they choose to just wing when they return or they don't have anybody to train with and push them further than previous years. This often leads to minor injuries and prevents the player from performing at a high level.
These are actually the reasons why we initially decided to develop the college preparation program.
The program started out as a help to our Poway High School girls and have since expanded out to RB, Westview, LCC, Torrey Pines, Bishops, Eastlake, Cathedral Catholic, OLP, San Pasqual etc. We have had very few boys in the past but we would like to stress this program is open to boys players too. This year we already have boys committed so we are excited about that.
According to Jen Lalor-Nielsen, "Through my training and playing experience (U.S Women’s National Team, professional carriers in the US, Japan, Denmark and Sweden) I have gained valuable knowledge about conditioning training." This knowledge, combined with program director Bo Nielsen instructions on how to run, turn and sprint more efficient, provides the athletes with an all in one training program. We believe in perfecting the things you can control technical and fitness training are essential to succeeding at the next level. Among success stories include:
CoCo Goodson is now at UCI and was named NCAA 2010 All American
"Amazing achievement we are proud of you!!!" says Bo & Jen
Sarah Devine made it to the sweet sixteen with UCI in her 2ND year as a starter
"Congratulations we always believed in you, excited to see you dominate at the college level"
Lauren Duran and San Francisco State won State Championship in 2010
"Great Job Lauren you Rock!!!"
Allie Lopez have decided to focus on studies and do no longer play college soccer
"It has been truly a pleasure to watch you play, technical gifted and graceful on the ball!!!"
"Our program have 100% passing rate because our program builds the athlete up slowly over the whole summer (8 weeks) to avoid injuries and ensure successful college testing."
The college prep program is not a general fitness program. All colleges have different fitness tests, in our program the athlete will work towards passing their personal fitness test. This is why we have 100% passing rate.
"Do you need to pass a fitness test for you upcoming college season or do you want to know what it takes to pass one?
