Youth Soccer News: Del Mar Sharks BU12 Gold Are Copa Del Mar Champions

2010 Copa Del Mar Champions, The Del Mark Sharks BU12 team keep title and win the soccer tournament again for 2011.

The Del Mar Sharks BU12 Gold team won the Copa Del Mar Tournament. This is the team's second championship title of summer 2011 with Shark's Coach Mickey Pejkic.  

Del Mar Sharks BU12 Championship Team

The Sharks BU12 first game in Copa Del Mar was a 2-2 tie against Aztecs FC.  The second game was a 4-0 win against Carlsbad Lightening Black.  The next win was 8-1 against the Nomads.  

Coach Mickey Pejkic says, "I think the boys did a great job last weekend. We didn't start the tournament very well, but every game we played better, and we were constantly improving throughout the tournament."

"We played the best game in the final, and I was very happy with the boys' performance.  This is a team with a lot of new players, a new coach, and we have been playing in different formations.  The boys adjusted quickly, and we have already won two tournaments this year, which just proves how talented this group of boys is. For me, this is just a beginning.  We are going to keep working hard, and I'm sure we will play much better in upcoming tournaments and Presidio League," says Coach Mickey Pejkic.

The championship match played was against another Del Mar Sharks team with a 5-0 result, making this the second year in a row the boys have won this tournament!
