Youth Soccer News: Murrieta Surf Renews Franchise Agreement with San Diego Surf SC
Success breeds succes and the power of a name can open doors and provide a benchmark of quality. The San Diego Surf Soccer Club's affiliate program is proving a powerful tool in today's competitive youth soccer market. The proof is not only in the success of the partner clubs but the desire to renew the affiliate agreement.
In December 2011 Murrieta Youth Soccer League and FC Murrieta entered into a strategic partnership with San Diego Surf SC, with the competitive branch becoming Murrieta Surf SC.
At the time the goal was to develop their competitive soccer program with the benefit of an association with a Nike Premier Club. In the year plus since then, the partnership has been all that Murrieta hoped for and more.
Murrieta Surf and San Diego Surf have now announced the signing of a new five-year franchise agreement between the two clubs. Murrieta decided to re-sign with Surf SC after an extremely successful 2012/2013 season in which the club fielded a club-record number of teams, won a record number of tournament titles and hired former Major League Soccer (MLS) coach, David Beckham Academy director and Sheffield United FC coach Steve Myles as the club's Director of Coaching.
"Murrieta Surf Director of Coaching Steve Myles is one of the best player development coaches in southern California,” said San Diego Surf Director of Coaching Colin Chesters, “and I'm confident that under his leadership Murrieta Surf teams will be competing at the highest levels alongside San Diego Surf teams."
"Our club growth has skyrocketed since signing a partnership with Surf Soccer Club," said Steve Haubrick, the President of Murrieta Surf Soccer Club. “We are excited about the future, and are thrilled to sign a long-term extension of our affiliate agreement. We see a tremendous benefit in the Surf network and are proud that our players will see increased opportunities to play at the highest levels and beyond high school.”
When the original agreement was signed, Haubrick explained that Murrieta’s goal was “to provide our players and coaches with every opportunity to reach their full potential.” That goal has clearly been reached, as the new agreement shows.
"We are excited to sign Murrieta Surf Soccer Club to a long-term agreement, and look forward to a close relationship between Murrieta Surf, San Diego Surf and our other affiliate clubs,” said San Diego Surf SC President Jeremy McDonald. “Murrieta Surf is a club on the rise, and we believe they have the facilities, administrators and coaches to become dominant in the Temecula Valley area."
"Murrieta Surf Soccer Club was the first club to join our affiliate program, and we are pleased that they have decided to remain an affiliate for the foreseeable future,” said Bryan Thistle, VP of Affiliates Program at San Diego Surf. “We plan to encourage their continued growth with extensive coaching support from SD Surf coaches, tournament support, registration and web site tools, opportunities for their players to join traveling Surf Select team and overall administrative support."
Since Murrieta Surf joined the Surf SC family in December 2011, the club has added Hawaii Surf SC in January 2013 and Inland Empire Surf SC in February 2013 to their franchise program.
San Diego Surf Soccer Club strives to provide serious youth soccer players with the best fields, coaching, teams and support structure to facilitate their development while also providing them positive soccer experiences that will last a lifetime. The Club competes for the state and national championships for both boys and girls and provides the best exposure to college coaches and college opportunities.
Murrieta Surf SC provides a competitive soccer experience for dedicated and committed players in the Murrieta and Temecula Valley area. The club strives to create an environment that provides each player with valuable learning experiences, opportunities to improve skills and advance to higher levels and the chance to be a part of a larger premier soccer program.
