RSF Attack's coach Warren Jacobs believes soccer should be a player's game.  A warm, friendly and passionate man, Jacobs cares deeply for his players' development.  Jacobs has been a high school chemistry teacher as well as a youth soccer coach for nearly three decades and is dedicated to inspiring his players to develop their skills while enjoying the game of soccer.

 

Jacobs says he coaches youth soccer because he "loves the sport and coaching is a creative and progressive activity."  His playing experience includes UCSD and Surf Men's Premier.  He joined Attack in 2002 and holds a USSF "B" License.

 

"My BU10 team is in the middle of the AAA pack in Presidio and every game this season has been exciting and competitive.  Even though the AAA players on all teams are athletically stronger, more skillful, and better tactically than most players their age, we have moments of brilliance as well as moments of bad touches and weak decisions," says Jacobs.

Jacobs believes in developing players and not just winning games. Jacobs says, "Since I am encouraging creative play and developing their own decision making within some strong parameters, we sacrifice some efficiency.  In the long run it will pay off for the boys."

 

"I can also say that we are having a lot of fun, our training sessions are very energetic and productive, the boys genuinely like each other, and I really like the sidelines on the team.  Great families and great parents," says Jacobs.

What's ahead?  Jacobs looks towards continuing to build out his team. "We are beginning our search for strong athletes who are good players to join this special team as we expand our roster for playing on the bigger field with 11 v 11 and look forward to adding a few select players who wants to join a great bunch of guys."
