FINAL REPORT:
The Real Madrid defeated the LA Galaxy. Final Score is Real Madrid 4-1 LA Galaxy. The halftime score was 2 - 0. With more than 56,000 soccer fans attending the match, Real Madrid dominated one of MLS's favorite teams.
Man of the Match is goal scorer Fabio Coentrao. The LA Galaxy was not able to hold on the ball and Real Madrid dominated this evening at the World Football Challenge brought Spain's famous world-class players to Southern California.
Second Half Recap:
Real Madrid's coach, Jose Mourinho put on Cristiano Ronaldo and Xabi Alonso in the second half of the Real Madrid vs LA Galaxy match.
Kaka played exceptionally well and was able to find Jose Callejon with a beautifully executed assist and Callejon found the back of the next to give Real Madrid their first goal. And the Real Madrid fever just kept on all evening as the Spanish power continued to control the ball and minimize the effectiveness of one of MLS's best teams.
La Galaxy's goalie, Brian Perk was unable to block one of Ronaldo's shots in the 53rd minute. All Perk could do seemingly was watch the ball fly by as it increased Real Madrid's score to 3-0. Real Madrid wasn't satisfied with a possible final score of 3-1 and Karim Benzema shot the ball just before the 60th minute after a cross from Coentrao and the score went up again to 4-1, this time for the last time.
To avoid a shut out, the LA Galaxy were able to rally and in the 67th minute, Adam Cristman was magically able to take advantage of a rebound that sailed towards his head. Not a regular on the LA Galaxy roster, Cristman has been appearing more frequently of late and now should get the attention he may deserve as coaches and fans are thankful of his goal.
Ronaldo played the entire time and delighted fans. Ronaldo's step overs and turns on the ball were very sharp and he looked ready to go. Ronaldo stayed on the left side of the field and interchanged with other Real Madrid players well, demonstrating his technical and tactical skills.
Real Madrid is in their pre-season and LA Galaxy is in well into their season and the European players looked very well prepared.
