San Diego Soccer News: Chula Vista PUMAS PREMIER FC Says Thank You to Supporters
To be or NOT to BE! That was the question Chula Vista PUMAS PREMIER FC faced several weeks ago. As players, parents and team members of the club were saddened by the situation with corporate giant PUMA (Read Story on Pumas Soccer Club and Puma Resolve Conflict) support, understanding and luck were on the side of the San Diego's youth soccer club. As the "PUMAS' were able to remain the 'PUMAS' -- the name they have used for the youth soccer club for the last 13 years, the frowns turned to a bright smiles.
Chula Vista PUMAS Premiere FC would like to thank everyone for their help and support during this difficult time. The club, parents and the players are all extremely grateful to everyone who believed and helped us. Our club is very excited to be able to continue to show "PUMAS' proudness!
Hugo Molina, President of the Chula Vista PUMAS PREMIER FC announced yesterday that the controversy with the Puma corporation has been resolved. The cleat and sportswear company was started by shoe maker Rudolf Dassler in 1948 and today is the official supplier to five European teams had issue with the local San Diego soccer club using the name Pumas.
Molina says “We are happy to have come to a positive resolution with PUMA. We hope to work with them to build a positive image for our youth soccer club, the community in the South Bay and PUMA.”
