Germany has made it to the semi-finals in the World Cup by beating Argentina 4-0, Saturday morning, July 3rd 2010 at Cape Town’s Green Point Stadium. Argentina’s coach Diego Maradona watched as his team lacked the power to penetrate Germany’s relentless defenses and strong finishing.

Germany will play Spain or Paraguay in the last four. Who expected Argentina to loose without ever even scoring a single goal?

Bastian Schweinsteiger was on fire and Thomas Muller got the first ball into the net. This was Germany’s 200th FIFA World Cup™ goal and the fans roared.
Miroslav Klose - winning his 100th cap – toe poked the ball from the six yard box and scored another goal. Just a few minutes later, Schweinsteiger made an amazing pass to Friedrich who scored and then, once again Klose shot in a goal off of a cross from Mesut Ozil.

A subdued Lionel Messi shot on goal a few times only to have the German keeper easily catch his attempts. After the match was over and Argentina was eliminated, Maradona walked the field embracing all his players. When he reached a still-in-shock Messi, Mardona hugged his key player but TV viewers could see that the embrace brought no comfort to the distraught player.
