NIKE: PLAY LIKE AN AMERICAN

In support of the US Men's National Team's Friendly against Brazil on August 10, 2010 Nike debuts it's Play Like an American spot during half time.

Play Like An American
Every time you take the pitch they watch and study your moves.
Every match they dream of being in your boots.
Then they play to push it further, evolving the American style.
Every match is another step forward.
Tradition is nothing in the face of ambition.

Unfortunately the U.S. vs Brazil friendly ended in a 2-0 loss for America.
With the World Cup just over, soccer players and enthusiasts gathered together to watch the high profile soccer friendly match between the U.S. and Brazil.  For anyone who had been missing watching members of the U.S. soccer team, this was a chance to see Donovan and Buddle play again, this time with LA Galaxy teammate Gonzalez debuing  them on the National Team.

There was magic on the field in the beginning with Buddle and Donovan but the goals never came.  Brazil is one of the best teams in the world.  Even just watching them play as a spectator is an amazing treat.  Of course, Donovan said it best "We don’t like to lose anymore. It’s never okay to lose for us. I think we were just tired.”
According to Coach Bob Bradley “I felt we had a good first 20-25 minutes. Early on, the ball was moving quickly and we had good energy. The fact that we were not able to sustain that certainly is more of an indication of where the players are at this point. The things we need to work on are always the same."

Well, playing like an American means being able to win and loose -- and being able to pick yourself back up, prepare and go back out to win again.
