The California Invitational will feature teams from U9 through U14 playing a guaranteed four games over the weekend. The winning U12 boys’ and girls’ teams will receive bids for the U13 CRI level and U13 boys’ and girls’ teams will receive bids for the U14 CRI level. Age groups for the CRI are based on the next seasonal year, and thus are one year older than current age divisions.

This will be the first year that the CRI has expanded to include girls’ teams because of the great interest and demand internationally. The tournament will feature a four-game minimum and triple elimination.

"It's exciting to have these events recognized and have the champions rewarded to advance to an international tournament later in the year,” says PSS President Scott Spencer. “The timing of the spring events should give enough time for champions to make plans to compete in the event as well."

Since 2007, PSS has been involved in organizing events and programs from the grassroots level to international and professional soccer. Their first events included the 2007 Futbol Internacional Tournament in Alabama and the 2007 Superclasico exhibition featuring the reserve teams of Club America and CD Guadalajara (Chivas).
