Nomads player Rowan Martin is MVP

NOMADS TAKES MVP HONORS AT CLEMSON UNIVERSITY FOR 2ND STRAIGHT YEAR

Roman Martin was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the Clemson University Advanced Soccer Camp held June 24-27.  Rey Ortiz was MVP at the same camp in 2009.  Both players play for the Nomads U14 team.

Roman has attended this camp for 5 straight years and was a 3-time all-star selection at this camp (2008, 2009 and 2010).  Roman and Parker Haywood (U14 player too) will be attending Kevin Grimes’ camp at UC Berkeley later this summer.

A rising 8th grade student at La Jolla Country Day, Roman Martin also plays soccer for his middle school team, Torreys Soccer

“Roman's development has been consistent, putting him right on track in becoming a top flight soccer player.  It's good to see this type of recognition once again.  I know the level that he's capable of playing at and this is only further validation.  The future is clearly bright for this young man" said Paul Holohan Coach of the Nomads U14 team.

Roman grew up playing soccer as a young boy in Los Angeles and joined the Nomads SC in La Jolla in 2005 when he was eight years old.

Now in his 6th season with the Nomads SC, Roman is clearly a bright rising star on an impressive team, which has had two consecutive 30 plus wins per seasons for 2008-09 and 2009-10. On GotSoccer Roman’s Nomads team is currently ranked in Top 10 in the country.
