Spaniard arrives with experience with Atletico Madrid; UEFA A Coaching License
Sahlen’s Sports Park has announced the addition of Pedro Martinez Losa as Advanced Training Instructor for the Western New York (WNY) Flash Youth Academy and Sahlens Sports Park.
Losa brings unparalleled experience to the organization, having been involved for 18 years with professional and youth soccer in Spain; the hub of the soccer world and home to the 2010 World Cup Champions and the EURO 2012 Champions.
Losa’s notable professional coaching career features positions as head coach of some of Spain’s elite professional teams, including C.F. Pozuelo, Rayo Vallecano de Madrid, and C.F. Pozuelo Women’s First team. He led Rayo Vallecano to a Spanish Super League Women’s title and a UEFA Women’s Champions League appearance. Losa also has experience coaching on the youth side in Spain with A.D. Calasanz Pozuelo U13, U14, U15 Boys Academy, as well as for Atletico de Madrid, one of the most decorated clubs in the world.
“I am very excited to be working with SSP, trying to transmit my knowledge and experience to try to improve the program. I am very grateful that Aaran [Lines, WNY Flash Head Coach] and Alex [Sahlen, President of SSP and the WNY Flash] are trusting me and my value as a coach; I am fortunate to be a part of the organization.” Losa says of his arrival to Western New York.
Losa has a B.S. in Physical Activity and Sport as well as a UEFA ‘A’ Coaching License.
The appointment of Losa as Advanced Training Instructor comes at a vital time, as former Flash Assistant Coach Hubert Busby is no longer with the organization. Flash head coach Lines will take over Busby’s other role as Director of Coaching for SSP.
