Laguna Niguel BU12 White are champions of the Toyota of Orange Classic for 2010, now the second year in a row for this tournament.

This year, the competition was much tougher and LNSC BU12 only scored 6 goals in 4 games with one goal scored against.

In 2009, the team scored 10 additional goals in the same tournament.  The bracket in the tournament included two silver teams as well as one silver elite team.

The LNSC BU12 White team, as a 2nd year bronze team, beat out the two silver teams, one head to head, and then beat out the silver elite team in a 2-1 final's game. It was more a defensive battle in all the matches as the LNSC BU12s won 4 games, 2-0, 2-0, 0-0 (advanced to finals on points), and then 2-1.

LNSC BU12 Coach Rusty Melanson says "We ended up playing the Silver Elite team from Tustin. We beat them 2-1. The boys worked very well together and fought hard to beat a tough team and then repeat as Toyota of Orange Champions. This year was much tougher than last year!"

LNSC BU12 white team is one of the favorites to win Bronze South this year, finishing 3rd last season and advancing to the quarter-finals during 2010 state cup.  The team roster: William Ospina, Jacob Huber, Casey Counts, Nicholas Melanson, Angelo McKinney, Ryan Bishop, Stefano McKinney, Jacob Crocker, Jorge Cuevas, Matthew Reagan, Eric Thellman, Ethan Lyons, Easton Campbell, Justin Taylor, Alfonso Quezada

The Toyota of Orange Classic competition for the U12 bracket included returning champions LNSC White, plus the competitors Saddleback Spartans, Pateadores Blue, Nitemares Lyon, Tustin United, Palmdale Thunder, OJSC Crush and Xtreme White.

Laguna Niguel Soccer Club's BU12 team is from Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Aliso Viejo, and Mission Viejo.  The core of the team has been together for almost 4 years as an AYSO Plus team. They are a second year Club team in Bronze South, finished 3rd last season in Bronze South, Final 8 (quarter-finals) in State Cup 2010, and hope to win Bronze South this year and get promoted to Silver.  The team's first game is September 11 and I know everyone wishes them good luck!
