LA Galaxy lost to NY Red Bulls 2-0 | LA Galaxy, New York Red Bulls, Columbus Crew, Major League Soccer, MLS, Real Salt Lake, Landon Donovan, David Beckham NY Red Bull, Dane Richards, Juan Pablo Angel

Red Bull New York 2, Los Angeles 0

LA Galaxy lost Friday to the New York Red Bulls at the Home Depot Center. Red Bull now ties Columbus Crew for the top of the Eastern Conference in Major League Soccer (MLS).  LA Galaxy remains three points ahead of Real Salt Lake in the Western Conference.

Regardless of Landon Donovan's hard work and skill and David Beckham exceptional performance, NY Red Bull's Dane Richards scored a goal in the 37th minute.  Later in the match, Richards was fouled inside the penalty area and Juan Pablo Angel converted the opportunity into a goal.

David Beckham made his first start of the 2010 season since returning from his achilles tendon injury.

Beckham has only been back playing for three weeks with his first appearance in the Columbus Crew match.  LA Galaxy fans were disapointed after all the spotlight attention on the West coast vs East coast rivalry.

The Red Bulls missed their famous striker Thierry Henry but the NY team still looked strong and powerful and, in the end, were easily able to shut out LA. Galaxy fans look forward to a strong performance in the next match on October 3 against Chivas USA.
