Inter Milan defeated rival Bayern Munich 2- 0 to win the UEFA Champions League.  It was Inter Milan's first win of the European soccer title in more years than the age of many of its fans --  45 years to be exact, for Inter to reclaim the title. 
Milito's dominance and amazing foot action was a pleasure to watch as he scored with ease and confidence and has provided bragging rights to Inter for the year.  San Diego, Orange County and LA fans are thrilled.  Congratulations! Milito who's home country is Argentina will provide a huge boost for them to put claim on the World Cup!!

The FIFA World Cup, an event soccer enthusiasts believe is better than the World Series, Super Bowl and NBA finals rolled into one, is three weeks away. Soccer fans counting down the days.

Saturday, Fox will do something surprising. The network is pushing its major league baseball coverage back three hours to 4 p.m. to show the UEFA Champions League final, a match between Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.  Bayern and Inter are both seeking to capture the championship and become recognized as the best team in Europe.

"What we discovered with the Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Soccer Plus has been an incredible eye-opener," said David Hill chairman of Fox Sports. "The American audience keeps building. It became a no-brainer that this game deserves a place on the network. Obviously, being on a Saturday afternoon is perfect for us. It doesn't force us to replace prime time."  Fox is rolling out the big guns for a match that starts at 11:30 a.m.

Martin Tyler, the lead announcer for Sky Sports' coverage of UEFA Champions League and Barclays Premier League matches in England, will call the match from Madrid's 80,000-seat Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Andy Gray is the analyst.

Curt Menefee anchors the network's coverage, which includes a 15-minute pregame show, along with former U.S. men's national team coach and current L.A. Galaxy coach Bruce Arena.

"We all appreciate that the World Cup probably has a greater global presence than the Champions League," Arena said. "But I think, in the views of the football (soccer) communities around the world, people can clearly argue the Champions League has a greater quality than you will see in the World Cup."
