Orange County Youth Soccer: So Cal Infinity '99 Blue Girls

The So Cal Infinity '99 Blue GU11 started their soccer season in the Coast Soccer League in the Silver Central division.

So Cal Infinity Blue GU11 pitted wills against the Corona Eagles '99 Navy GU11 squad. When the excitement ended and the dust settled, Infinity Blue walked away earning their first victory of the season with a final score of 1 – 0.

The whistle blew starting the game. The pitch was electric in the early, foggy morning with anticipation of the first league game for both teams. Infinity maintained possession of the ball dominating the early play. At the 13th minute, Infinity was awarded a corner. Infinity's Maricarmen Reyes took the corner from the right side of the pitch. With the ball in play in the dangerous area, Infinity's Camille McDonnell put in the goal giving her team the early lead 1 – 0.

The scoring in the half and the game was scarce. Infinity Blue players with shots on goal in the half were Claire Murray, Mikayla Buscaino, Michael Guptill, Isabel Dehakiz, Maricarmen Reyes, and Maddie Kline.

The second half saw a continuation of the first type of play with Infinity dominating possession. The domination was best exhibited by the Eagles' only have two shots on goal – one in each half. However, no more scoring occurred.

Infinity players with shots on goal not breaking the plane in the second half were Guptill, Reyes, Dehakiz, McDonnell, Kline, Ava Gomez, Abby Bivens, and Mia Richardson. The match ended with Infinity earning a shutout and 3 valuable points in the group standings. This was the opening salvo for the league play which continues the weekend of the 18th of September with a double header for Infinity Blue.
