Club Soccer News: The Hawks GU11 White Compete at Carlsbad Cup
The
Hawks GU11 White team played some great soccer this past weekend at the 2010
Carlsbad Cup, presented by
adidas and
Eurosport.
Carlsbad Lightning Soccer was proud to host the 4th Annual
Carlsbad Cup, a Class I Competitive Soccer Tournament with more than 300 teams participating in brackets ages U8 to U19.
The
Hawks GU11 White beat
La Costa Matrix Blue 3-0,
Scripps United White 4-1, and
RSF Attack White 4-0. Coach Charlie Schreck and assistant coach Jenny Blumenthal lead the GU11 to victory and with only 1 goal allowed, the
Hawks GU11 won their bracket and advanced to the semi finals, defeating
Encinitas Express 1-0 in a hard fought game.

The Carlsbad Cup championship match was played against
Menifee Thunder. The game was tied 1-1, which led to penalty kick's. The Hawks White missed it by 1 goal and took 2nd in the tough competition and they learned a lot . The Hawks team really proved themselves on the field as a new team and everyone was proud of their passion for soccer and commitment to the game. Way to go Hawks!
